Blogging in India is growing in a rapid pace and people are finally realizing the true value of it. When a blogger or a blog is recognized, the blogger no doubt gets credited for the work that he/she has done but I truly believe that brands and influencers also play a major role in it. Whether it is through a brand collaboration or blogger’s meet, it always is a good opportunity for us bloggers to get to interact with more people and build our contacts.
Having said that, I was overwhelmed when I got an invite for the 2nd edition of the ‘So Delhi’ Confluence on the 3rd of June at The Lalit, New Delhi. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the first confluence that was held on 1st August 2015, and I knew that this year was going to be an equally amazing show just like last year! To explain in brief, So Delhi is the top guide to New Delhi curated by local experts covering Food, Nightlife, Events, Attractions, Travel and more. So in case you wanna know anything about Delhi or if you’re a newbie here, So Delhi can be your best guide!
‘So Delhi’ has really lived up to their mantra of ‘striving to constantly do better things’ because this year the Confluence was so much bigger and better!( Not saying last year wasn’t good :D) From the venue to the food and hospitality, everything was so well organised and the whole team of So Delhi really outdid themselves! After the Bloggers and Influencers registered themselves, the event kick started with an introduction by the designer duo Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor, who welcomed everyone and opened the event. Tea and coffee along with light refreshments were constantly served and the bloggers and influencers got to interact with each other right away. There was also a Roposo, the LalitGroup & Kitty Su Photobooth that was set up for all the guests to take pictures.
After all the bloggers and influencers were seated, the event went ahead and the Founder & CEO of So Delhi, Mr. Digant Sharma, along with Mr. Gaurav Mishra, GM of Sales & Marketing at the Lalit Group of Hotels took the stage to officially open the event.
This was followed by the first (and my favorite) panel discussion moderated by a renowned Social Activist, Leher Sethi, on the topic “BLOGGING IN INDIA. WILL IT EVER BE A FULL TIME JOB?” Eminent bloggers from various fields including food, fashion and lifestyle namely, Deeba Rajpal (www.passionateaboutbaking.com); Pawan Soni (www.indianfoodfreak.com ); Sukhneet Wadhwa (www.mscocoqueen.com) and Devina Malhotra (www.guiltybytes.com) were a part of the discussion and they brought to light about the various aspects of blogging and discussed in depth on the given topic and also answered some questions that were put up by some fellow bloggers. Altogether, the talk was really enlightening and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
The first panel discussion was followed by the launch of ARMANI EXCHANGE watches and the Marketing Manager of FOSSIL group, Swati Gupta addressed everyone about the watches.
After the launch of the watches, Leher Sethi took to stage again and introduced Mr. Kapil Mishra, a member of Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet who also represents the Karawal Nagar Constituency. They talked about how each individual can do a bit for the city and make it a better place to live in. The talk was truly very inspiring!
Once the one on one conversation with Mr. Kapil Mishra was over, it was now time to felicitate some of the established bloggers and confluencers for their excellent work. The award was presented by Mr.Keshav Suri, the Executive Director of The Lalit Group of Hotels.
Right after, the CEO of Cocofly, Mr. Abhay Jaiswal addressed us about the story behind Cocofly, a 100% Coconut water drink.
This was the followed by a surprising and entertaining (which BTW was the highlight of the evening!) performance by MC Sid :
After the panel discussions and conversations, the crowd dispersed for a much needed cocktail break. The food and drinks were delicious and to add a cherry on top, the very talented singer Dhruv Vishvanath took over the stage and got us all excited!
The performance got over and so did our food and it was now time to witness another discussion that revolved around ‘Ways to bridge the gap between confluencers and brands.’ Moderated by Mr. Riteish Singh, CEO of ARM Digital, the conversation included some of the most influential panelists including Prince Khanna, Founder& CEO of Eleve Media and Karan Bhandari, Digital Director at Weber Shandwick. The panelists higlighted ways in which the gap between brands ad bloggers can be taken away so as to create better and stronger connections.
The panel discussion was then followed by a one on one with Naina Redhu, Lifestyle & Luxury Photographer and Blogger and she answered all the questions which was raised about blogging by the audience. She was also very kind to talk in depth and openly about how much she earns and her future plans and goals which I thought was very inspiring and helpful for everyone. She went on saying, ” Bloggers usually tend to work in isolation, so events like this are really important so that bloggers can meet their fellow bloggers and basically learn how not to kill themselves while working (laughs). It’s a really cool place and I really liked the subjects that had been chosen for the panel discussion for their utmost relevance to what bloggers have to actually deal with.”
What followed was The Confluencers Pitch wherein three bloggers namely Devyani Kapoor, Faizan Patel and Pallavi Chaturvedi pitched their ideas for a campaign outreach program to a panel of four distinguished guests including Swati Gupta, Zoya Shakeel, account lead at WATconsult, Abhik Choudhury from North Star Co and Priyanka Kamboj from Design Aqua. The best pitch had been slated to win an Armani Exchange Watch.
Pallavi Chaturvedi took home the laurels.
After the heated pitching, we moved on to the much-awaited raffles give away, where five lucky winners were bestowed treasures such as meal vouchers, designer sunglasses and lots more.
Post the conversations, discussions and award ceremonies, the event came close to an end. To express her gratitude to all the bloggers and the influencers, Priyanka Sharma, co-founder of So Delhi took the stage to impart the closing note.
Post the closing note, a delicious and scrumptuos dinner was served. My favorite was the spaghetti which was being made in a big bowl of cheese! (OMGEE! Still cannot get over that awesomeness!!)
To sum up, the event was great as always and I am so grateful to the whole team of So Delhi for letting me be a part of such a wonderful event. Looking forward to be a part of the Confluence next year as well! But until then, Keep shining, SO DELHI!
