World’s Interior Day ft. Asian Paints

Apart from all things fashion, I’ve always been fascinated by the whole idea of Home(or interior) Designing. It’s amazing to know what interior designing can do and how it can totally transform the look and feel of one’s home.I keep stalking different home inspiration accounts on Instagram and also love pinning some beautiful interior designs on Pinterest and I confess that that’s pretty much what I do if I’m not reading blogs or finding some outfit inspirations.

That being said, I was very excited when I got an invite for an exclusive workshop on the occasion of ‘World’s Interior Day‘ by Asian Paints at their ColourStore, Connaught Place, Delhi on ‘How to draw inspiration from homes and office spaces designed in popular films‘ hosted by the renowned Film Production Designer, Shruti Gupte. Shruti has designed homes and interior spaces for  some of the most popular films like ‘Aisha‘, ‘Khoobsurat‘, ‘Taare Zameen Par‘, ‘Lunch Box‘ and many more and it was very interesting to hear about the whole idea of set designing from the designer herself. She talked in length about how every corner of the set has different meanings and how she draws inspiration from the characters in the films while designing the sets and also on how consumers can use designs seen in movies as inspiration while decorating their homes.

The workshop was centered on the theme ‘Intelligent & Inspirational Interiors, from Silver Screen to Your Home‘. This initiative by Asian Paints offered consumers the unique opportunity to being their homes, the look and feel that they love, admire and aspire for, from their favorite films which I think is such a great idea.

Shruti also spoke about how one should not be afraid of experimenting and instead should play more with colors and textures and since our personal and professional environments are an extension of our personality, it should inspire our days, help create memories or convey our aspirations.

Amit Syngle, President-Sales, Marketing & Technlogy of Asian Paints, talking about the event also added,”From sharing insights on how to choose the right colour to offering firsthand through interesting DIY activities, we have always strived to engage consumers on painting and decor through events and activities at the Colour store. Since films are known to inspire us in many ways, the Colour Store has collaborated with Ace Production Designer, Shruti Gupte, for World’s Interior Day to bring inspirational home decor ideas from the silver screen to consumers”.

Being someone who loves home designing, this workshop truly helped me get new ideas and inspiration for my personal space. Overall, I had a great time at the workshop and kudos to Asian Paints for coming up with such a great initiative!
