A beautiful mess- WHAT’s IN MY BAG?

Recently I have been asked by many of the followers of my blog and page to put up a post about “What’s in my bag?” Well, thinking about the same, we all know that this is one of the most common posts by every (fashion) blogger and I was excited to put up a post myself.

So today, I thought of giving you a little peek inside my bag and the items in it. First of all let me tell you that I am a huge fan of bags and I love matching them with the outfit I’m wearing. I have a huge collection of bags and it’s still counting. Bags, I feel are worth indulging upon rather than apparels or jewelries. My love for bags is almost the same as my love for shoes. It’s a never ending story. Similarly, I love to stuff things on my bag and whether they are useful or not is all together a different story.(hehe)

So, what is in my bag, you ask? 🙂

1)      Wallet (really all I need)

2)      Handkerchief .

3)      Water bottle (because spending some extra penny for water is so not worth)

4)      Best pen(s) in the world.

5)      Because I’m not allowed to enter college without it (who wants to anyways?!hehe)

6)      The most essential make up for me.

7)      Can’t step out without.

8)      After a long and rough auto ride.

9)      In case of emergency. Thanks to mom.

10)   Because I hate keeping my hair loose for the whole day(esp. During summers)

11)   Keys for everything.

12)   In case of extreme hunger(lol)

13)   Everybody loves to smell good. Even I do(of course)

14)   Mostly during winters.

15)  Hand sanitiser. Thanks to my best friend. Inherited this ‘good’(thank goodness)habit from her for the first time 😉

16)   Charger and earphone!( esp. When you have a smart phone!admit it!)

17)   Sunglasses.Always.

18)   A kindle. That one thing you need when you’re travelling a long way all alone in the metro.

19)   VERY IMPORTANT (in bold letters)

20)   Weirdest things(well, for some of you) I carry on my bag- Tons of used receipts/papers and a plastic spoon.

Now THAT is a realistic “What’s in My Bag”. What kind of crap would I find if I dumped out your bag?

Welcome back readers!

Traditional dance of the Hmars, known as 'Bamboo dance'

First of all, I’d like to thank you guys for giving such positive feedback and honest response towards my first blog post. To be honest, I never expected my stats to blow up with the number of traffic it received in just a little amount of time.  Thank
you all for being so wonderful.

So here, my second blog is all about my rich culture; the culture that I belong, the culture that I grew up with, the culture that’s known as the ‘Hmar’ culture. This blog is about the biggest festival of the Hmars(our tribe) which is commonly known as ‘Sikpuiruoi’ which is the ‘winter festival of the Hmars’. So, basically, as its name suggests, it is widely celebrated on the month of December and we, the Hmars of Delhi witnessed this much awaited day on the 7th of December(Saturday), in the grandest way possible.604044_10200253308055487_499515810_nGreat location, great music, good food, good everything. On this day, to mark our culture and identity, every one was supposed to turn up in their best traditional attires.

As for me, I opted for a combination of green and black. Because I am a little too obsessed with frilled bottom skirts and also because its so ‘in fashion’ at the moment, I asked my mom to get a similar one for me. And my awesome mom got me one, adding a traditional flavor to it. The frilled part of the skirt was covered with a piece of our traditional wrapper (known as ‘Puon’ in Hmar). So, you see, it made it all the more unique than the common ‘puon’ that every other person was wearing at the event.
And I also loved it because its quite easy to carry off with your heels for a long day ahead. I’ve teamed the skirt with a white sheer shirt and a green V-neck sweater to beat the Delhi winters. Since, I love layering, I showed my love for this style by experimenting it with my neck pieces. The three different neck pieces, after layering looked like a real ‘statement jewelry’ and I’m glad they turned out pretty nice. My favorite pair of the Zara court shoes is all that was needed to complete my look for the event.

  • Sweater: Madame
  • Skirt: Stitched
  • Sheer Shirt: Forever New
  • Neck pieces and rings : Forever 21, Thrifted
  • Heels: Zara
  • Bag: 8teenstyle boulevard

Hie readers!
Welcome to my first blog post 🙂

“As I’m maturing, I’m going to do different things and take on new parts. I hope people come along with me on the journey”- Emma Watson

These very lines inspired me to create a fashion blog of my own where I can find strength and confidence in myself and feel good about myself whenever I’m feeling down. Because this is the first blog post, I’d like to first and foremost talk about the stereotype revolving a ‘typical blogger’(some of whom are surely my inspirations,no doubt) – perfect height, perfect figure, perfect complexion, perfect weight and most importantly a perfect bank account. Well, I can(proudly) say that I have none of those. I am any other girl with an umm..average height, average weight (not revealing numbers here). I might have even passed by some of you a million times but you see, I have found in apparels, my unique identity which the body I was born with couldn’t give me. Not saying I detest how I look but clothes surely opened up a new way for me to love myself(hehe). So, like I have already mentioned in the right hand corner of my blog, I’m just here-another blogger yet not just any other trying to show how my love for sensible dressing has driven me to the ‘insanity’ of publishing it.

blog post 2

Well, so here I’ve got two different looks for my first blog post. It represents the two different sides of me. As most of you who’ve known me must be aware of the fact that my style is everchanging. I like mixing things up and I hop from girly silhouettes to edgy styles all within a week. There is no particular ‘style genre’ that I follow.

The blue midi bodycon dress has always been on the top of my wishlist and I was so glad the moment I found the ‘ideal’ one in my favorite store. Surely, Forever21 has never let me down and this is the reason why I’m so in love with the brand. This blue beauty can be styled in either way you want. I’ve added my own personality touch to it and styled it in two very different styles-Both girly and grungy. So you see, I can either attend the most happening party in the city or hit the most talked about concerts with these two looks 😉
